iTunes purchases loaded onto both iPod and iPhone

You can put your purchased music on as many devices as you like - I think. I have 3 ipods and an iphone syncing the same purchased music.

Is you iphone signed onto the same itunes account as your computer?

Do you have more than one iTunes account that you have used to purchase content from the iTunes Store?

Any error message provided when trying to transfer iTunes content to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process?

When accessing the iTunes Store with your iPhone, select Featured or Top Tens. At the bottom of the window is the iTunes account. The iTunes account used by your iPhone is transferred to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process based on the iTunes account you are signed in with/using with iTunes on your computer when syncing.

You definitely want to make sure that in iTunes you authorize all Apple ID's first (if you have more than 1). What you then want to do is connect up the one device that has all the purchased content on it. Go to File\Transfer purchased from 'name of device'. This will bring the content over, if you get an error message that you are not authorized (then just double check that you only have 1 Apple ID). Either way go up to Store in the top menu bar select deauthorize account then go back up and authorize account. Attempt to transfer the purchases again. Once they are all on in your iTunes library there is no reason that you would not be able to sync this purchased content over to the other device.
