Hi all, I'm really considering Logic Express 8 and I just bought a newer macbook. It's not the brand new models but it has the 2.4 intel core duo processor. Is that powerful enough to run logic express 8?
I run LE8 on my 2007 MacBook with 2GB of RAM. Home recording only. Recording mostly instruments, some software instruments. I've found it to run fine. The Apple Store Genius said a MacBook Pro would be noticeably better but a MacBook would work.
I would have to agree with that the MacBook Pro is better suited for Logic 8, however I use an external drive for my project on both of my computers to help speed up the performance. I also have a friend who is using a Macbook with an external drive. He told me that when he reaches a certain number of tracks things start to slow down. I'm not sure what his limit is.
