Yes. i along with a few other people i know of are having the same exact problem. No word on any quick fixes yet so i guess we may have to wait until apple fixes the problem themselves.
Settings - Mail - Tap on AOL account - Tap on Advanced - Tap on SPAM so you get a check mark - Then tap on Trash on the very top so you get a check mark. Now go check AOL mail and attempt to delete.

2. Mail, Contacts, Calendars
3. Click your AOL account
4. Scroll down and click "Advanced"
5. Click "Deleted Mailbox"
6. Switch from "Trash" to "Spam" (at the bottom) then back to "Trash" at the top
really, you don't even need to click on SPAM and then back to trash.. you can just click on Trash at the top (even though it's already checked) and that will work just as well.
