Need help setting up Linksys WGA600N to AEBS-N / where are the issues?

I (used to) have a Buffalo WLA54GC ethernet bridge for my original iMac and a Laserwriter8500 printer to access my home network wirelessly. I had at the time an AEBS-G which was circa late 2004. It died, and Apple replaced it under an existing AppleCare plan. That got me a new AEBS-N model with Gigabit ports. Then I found the Buffalo wouldn't connect to it anymore... although the WDS set-up saw the MAC address for the Buffalo device. The Buffalo device continues to allow me to print a document to the connected printer, but there is no Internet access. I effectively have two networks at home without a WDS capability. I need to re-connect them for Internet access.

So I tried to do this to no avail, and went out and bought a Linksys WGA-600N gaming adapter, which is an ethernet bridge. I have not yet set it up. Any suggestions for success here?

I want to avoid pratfalls if someone has gone down this path yet.

Do I need to access any additional Linksys set-up software or is that moot? Can I get this device to work where the Buffalo has failed to do so? Where is the voodoo here?

I need some guidance...

I don't know about the Linksys bridge, however if you use the AirPort Express as a bridge, it would probably be much easier to configure. You can get the new N model, or just find a G model on the net for half the price. An AirPort Express is multi-functional in that it can be an access point, router, bridge, AirTunes server, Print server, wireless extender, etc... well worth the money and it gets rid of the headaches of configuring all the other ones.

I have an AX G model which has a WAN, not a LAN port. My needs are for the LAN to connect to the wireless network.

An AEX will not function as an Ethernet bridge, this according to Apple.

Sad to say I have been done this road!

Well, got my AX-G to talk to my AEBS-N and voila, I now have a two node WDS and the ethernet printer, the Laserwriter8500, is back on my network with the AX acting as an ethernet bridge, which is not clearly a supported function for its WAN port.

Almost stumbled into this, had trouble getting the AX to set up as a WDS remote base, but got over this hurdle and got my remote ethernet printer back on line either by name or IP location.

Ain't life grand!

The WGA-600N? I returned that POS to Circuit City for full credit.... could not get it to work... no matter what!
