What is the equivalent of the F11 shortcut?

One of my favorite shortcuts on my macbook was pressing F11 so everything would swoop away and I could get to whatever was on my desktop. I can't find that key on my new Macair.

On another disappointing note, neither migration assistant or the optical drive worked to transfer my files. Back to the reliable flash drive.

If you mean show the desktop then Command+the Expose button (F3) works on my MacBook Air with UK keyboard.

4 finger swipe clears the desktop.

You didn't mention which MBA you have - so this will work on the newer model.

I didn't know that MBA's can even use OSX 10.4? unless your signature is wrong?

Oh - that is the OS for my old macbook - the one I was unsuccessfully trying to transfer information from. I have a first generation MacBook Air so I guess that finger swipe thing won't work. That ctl F3 thing works but I really miss that one button short cut.

You can change the behavior in System Preferences. In keyboard and mouse, choose "use all F1, F2 etc. as standard function keys." Then in expose and spaces, choose F11 to show desktop. I have my MBA set up so that the F-keys work exactly as on the MacBook.
