Cannot add and Sync ringtones in Itunes

Hi, I have gotten a new 16GB Iphone and it works perfectly with Itunes 8.02.20 except the ringtones I added in itunes, it doesnt sync (or even show up in my Iphone Ringtones tab). I have tried many M4R but it still doesnt work. Those m4r shownin my LIBRARY -> RINGTONES but it just wont sync with my iphone (I already Ticked on the Sync all ringtones under my iphone).

I did hardreset and restore also the same. Any expert pls help. Really appreciate. Many thanks.

It sounds like you bough the song only, not the song and the ringtone.

Ringtones via itunes are available in the U.S. only.

In the U.S. to make a ringtone you:

Buy the song with a bell - 99 cents
Find the song in your library and click the bell
This bring up the editor.
You edit the song to the portion you want.
Then click buy to purchase the ringtone - another 99 cents.
Then it shows up in ringtones and you can sync.

As I said, this method of creating ringtones is available in the U.S. only.

Thanks for your reply. I was told for those mp3 converted to m4r it should work as well, is this right? My friends have gotten it work with the same method, but just not me. Any way out?

Thanx buddy! The trick is the 40sec thing - once I edit the ringtones to < 40secs then it works! Thanx again!
