How do I edit before calling?

When I receive a number in an email and click on it I only get Cancel or Call as an option. ALL other phones I've ever used allow me to edit before dialling so I can add a "+" etc. How do you do this on the iphone?

iPhone 3g, Other OS

the only workaround (i can think of) to this is to tap call. but once it starts to connect, hang up. then go back to your recent call list, and edit/save the number from there. not quite what you'd want, but the only way to do it now.

For call history, there is no way to access it in the API, thus, no app in the Store can help you over this. However, you can edit before call the existing contacts in the address. Try out a app called Smart Dialler which I am using it now. Its a app can edit before call, save your int'l code, prefix, etcs.

unfortunately you have to either save the number to an existing contact or create a new one. you still can't Edit and call.

once you save you can edit. which is probably more work than its worth.
