Security

A PC friend forwarded this URL to me ( http://www.pcworld.com/article/154780/sayit_aint_so_apple_encourages_antivirussoftware.html)
It states that Mac is now recommending that OSX users install security software. I read the FAQ page that they refer you to and I don't see this.
What is the viewpoint on installing security software? And if it is recommended, which one?

Thanks

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.4)
