IPOD Touch Applications Not Working

Hi There

I recently updated my Ipod Touch software to version 2.2. I then downloaded a few applications for the Itunes Store and synced my Ipod.

However when I try to open the applications they load for a few seconds and return to the main screen.

What should I do?

Thank you

Regards

My brother and I both bought shiny new 32g 3G iPod touchs for Christmas, blissfully unaware of the potential problems. My brother synced his iPod first to my computer, then I synced mine. Since then, we've gotten both free and paid apps. About a week ago, I started having problems with mine. When I tried to open some of the apps, they opened for less then a second, then flashed back to the home screen. A day later, all my apps were doing it. I restored and set up as a new iPod, one of the answers I saw on here, and that worked. Now however, my brother is having the same problems. I had him restore, and he's setting up his iPod to sync with our parents computer instead of mine.
PROBLEM!
I'm going to ship my computer off to get fixed in a couple of days. If I set up my iPod to sync with our parent's computer as well, will it cause one of the two to always have problems?! If so, I'm returning the crappy thing.

I have had this problem also (apps open for 1-2 seconds and close), I got the i touch for xmas, tried all the things on the forum, I then followed the steps on the apple site and the last step said to restore my i touch so i tried that and it started the restore process and then froze, i get an error message (14) i was told my ipod was in recovery and i needed to restore it to be able to use it but i could not. I contacted apple, they sent someone to my house the following day and reworked it and sent it back within a wk (very good service). as soon as i synced it i was back in the same situation so went through all the same things again. I have tried deleting some/all apps, deauthorising/reauthorising restoring nothing worked. I rang apple again today and they suggested creating a new user account on my computer and not having a password on it, then i connected my i touch to it and when i did under a different user (it was same as using new computer as i tunes was empty and didnt have any tunes/apps in it) it said i had a software update due for i touch (2-3 wks old) and once that downloaded my i pod worked perfect. i then went back to my own user account and synced it with that version of i tunes as it had the purchased tunes and apps and it is still working perfect. its only a few hours. but i defo recommend getting a new user account. for anyone that is not sure in windows OP go to control panel, add/remove user account and add account. then close i tunes, switch user and click on i tunes in the new account. it will then take a while transferring data from other acc. if asked to transfer music say no. hope this is of help to some people. i recommend if that doesnt work to restore it in the new user acc.

I had this problem today. Here is how I resolved the issue.
1. Connect your iPod Touch to your computer.
2. Allow the touch to complete the initial sync.
3. Transfer your purchases from your iPod to your iTunes library
4. In the sidebar on the left side, click on your iPod Touch
5. At the top of the screen, there are a number of tabs, select Applications
6. Check the box reading "sync applications", a warning will come up. Select OK, all settings and information within the apps is maintained.
7. Select all of the apps you want to have on your iPod Touch from the list on the screen
8. Click the Sync button at the bottom right corner.
Your apps should all work following this procedure. Good luck.

Same problem:

Downloaded an app, wouldn't load
Checked my other apps, they wouldn't load
tried resetting, didn't work
downloaded a new app, that wouldn't load and nothing else worked still
BUT the pre-loaded apps (mail, contacts, etc.) work fine
I think restoring might be good, but I hear it can wipe all of your data
please help

This may sound stupid but what I did was to delete one of the free apps on my touch, then re-install it. then all the apps started working again. you have to do this every once in a while.
Try it. you have nothing to lose, and from this discussion group a lot of people are having the same problem.
What's up Apple?
