Will an American-bought iphone work in Finland?

I live in Finland and am seriously thinking about buying an iphone from Amazon.com in the U.S. (by the way, is there a cheaper place?). Does anybody have any experience with this? Is there any reason an American-bought iphone wouldn't work in Finland (different voltage? incompatible networks? etc.) I'm not sure, but I guess I would buy the most recent model. Thanks in advance.

An iPhone purchased (at least through any authorized outlet) in the US must be registered with and locked to AT&T (and will not be supported by Apple outside of the US. So it would not be practical to purchase an iPhone in the US and try to use it in Finland. You need to purchase your iPhone, if you want one, from Sonera in your country.

And just FYI, Amazon does not sell iPhones. Those listed on Amazon are from other dealers who are almost certainly not authorized to sell the iPhone. So phones purchased from them probably will not carry an Apple warranty and be eligible for any support from Apple.
