Samsung ML-1210 print drivers

Just upgraded from 6 yr old iBook and can't recall how I got iBook to work with a Samsung ML-1210 laser printer. My new MB is just a few hours old, just finished updating software, migrating apps and data over from iBook and now stuck with printing.

Did a search but nothing. Does someone have suggestion? Search samsung.com site but only drivers they have are Win or Linux.

OS X has a supplied driver for the ML-1250. If these printers are in the same model series possibly that driver will work. Otherwise you're out of luck as Samsung does not provide a driver for OS X.

Can you be more specific - where can I find this?

I went to Barnes & Noble to pick up David Pogue's Missing Manual to start going through - did that for Panther about 4 years ago when I upgrade on my iBook.

make sure the printer is hooked up to the computer and turned on.
open system preferences and select "print & fax".
click the plus sign in the lower left portion of the window to add a printer.
it should detect your printer, regardless of whether your computer holds the specific driver.
highlight your printer, then go to the "print using" dropdown.
select "ML-1750" from the list.
you should be all set.

When you add the printer through the Print & Fax preferences. It's installed as part of the Gutenprint drivers. If you did not install these when you installed OS X, then you can install them from your OS X Installer Disc One. Use the Optional Installs installer.

Did not see the ML 1210 driver, although other Samsung drivers available, all with the guttenprint v5.1.3 version. Arbitrarily selected ML -6000 and nothing.

I did see 'generic pcl laser printer, 1.3' available, which i seem to recall what I used for my iBook (running panther). So tried to install this, when i print, printer engages for a second, then nothing.

Any other suggested drivers to pick?

Wow....perrrfect. Up and running. I went to Samsung site and couldn't find anything. What did I do wrong?

it's tough to navigate to certain areas on huge websites like that. google search "samsung printer driver" turns up better results and often comes up with the driver portion of the website.
