Downloading books to iPod shuffle

I'm thinking of buying an iPod shuffle to download books to. What do you think of this idea?

It's a GREAT idea! I've used my 2nd Gen shuffle solely, since 10/30/06 to listen to audiobooks.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I wanted to hear. I may need some help when it comes time to do the actual downloading to the shuffle.

I downloaded an audio book from itunes. Shows up on my play list, but I can't get it on my shuffle. I even unchecked all my music and left just the audio book checked for synching. No luck. What do I need to do? It appears I have plenty of room on the shuffle.

I am trying listen to books that I got from the library on my ipod shuffle, but I can't hear them. They are very low and nothing I do allows me to turn up the volume. Any suggestions? I cannot afford to buy books online. Thank you!
