rsync dry-run

I was wondering if there was a way to have the comparison list output of rsync not display directories... ie: I have 2 volumes where one of them has a few extra files and I want to do a rsync -avn to compare the two to see what extras there are.

Problem is, it's also listing thousands of directories even though there's nothing different in them between the source and destination -- just seems as though it's listing them to say "hey, I've checked these too and there's no files in here to copy over".
