Problems using Maxtor Personal Storage 3200 on Macbook

Hi,

I bought a Maxtor 3200 Personal Storage with the intention of using it as an external drive for my Macbook. i.e. when i finish with projects of large file size i can save them to my extrenal drive, and access them should i need them in future.

When i plug the maxtor into the macbook, it however says i only have read permissions, Hence i cannot paste items into the drive. Please assist me with the necessary steps.

thanks! 🙂

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.5)

Hi!
I got an Maxtor hardware from a friend with some stuff on it that I can drag to my iBook G4, 10.3.9. But I cant drag och copy any of MY files to the Maxtor! Does anyone know what to do?

After recommendation, I have tried to format the maxtor on a PC to another fileformat, but it didnt work either... The only fileformat that was suggested is NFTS so it didnt work out beacuse I need fat32 I think?

I have never backup my stuff, so I really need help! Anyone?? 🙂

Thank you!
