We have a B&O system (CD & Radio) which has a maze of wires with it. B&O are competely unhelpful - any ideas on how to play an iPod through it?

If your B&O uses the 5 or 7 pin DIN plugs (1/3 inch round plug with 5 or 7 small round pins and a flat pin inside) you will just need to use the cable suggested above and also buy a stereo RCA (two 1/4 inch round with a single pin in the middle ususally red and white)to DIN plug cable. You shoud be abel to get that cable at Radio Shack/Tandy/Dixons etc depending on where you live
Mini Jack to Phono left and right stereo output lead.
Plug that into the B&O system in a suitable input, then select it as the sound output that will be hear.

I'm unfamiliar with your system, but it's the same process for most systems.
1. Get a Stero Mini Jack to Stereo RCA adaptor - sometimes called a 'Y' adaptor. You can get them at Radio Shack for cheap or higher end (e.g. Monster) for expensive.
2. Plug the only end of that cable that will fit into the iPod into the iPod.
3. Plug the RCA connectors into the back of your amplifier/system- there will probably be a load of RCA sockets and hopefully one will be labelled 'Aux'. These are the ones you are looking for.
4. Select 'Aux' on your B&O for playback. i.e. the selector switch which allows you to choose 'CD' or 'FM' or whatever, will almost certainly have an 'Aux' input.
Listen to your iPod.
