Does anyone else have to Force Quit Safari 3.2 since recent software update

On both my IMac and Leopard MacBook Pro, I am frequently forced to "Force Quit" Safari since recent update. This never happened before. Is anyone else having this problem? Many thanks.

iMac & MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.4.9), 10.5.5

Yes, this has happened to at least three people today, referenced in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1820236&tstart=0.

But since we haven't yet determined the underlying cause for either of those people, you should give specifics of your problem along with a crash report if you have one. In the meantime, did you Repair Permissions since updating to Safari 3.2.1, try turning off the anti-phishing feature in Preferences > Security, or even try creating a new User Account to see if Safari crashes there as well? One or both of the first two things might solve your problem, and if not, the trying the third suggestion will tell us if the problem is system-wide or limited to your primary user account.

Dave,

I don't believe your comment is appropriate. In our extended family we have 7 Mac's, ppc and Intel. For all of us, Safari has been problematic since 3.1.2 and the several Security updates that followed.

This response is being sent via OmniWeb 5.6 which works just fine. I started in Safari but it gave me the endless page loading. I opened OmniWeb and it loaded the same pages just fine. I refreshed Safari. I stopped and had dinner. I came back and Safari is still trying to load pages.

At what point do I finally force quit (no crash report)?

About the best information I can give is it happened (this time) on Apple's site.

I would think there are people at Apple who use Safari (and now Mail and iPhoto seem to crash as well). Judging from the amount of recent comments I see all over the web, Safari problems are abundant. Perhaps the folks at Apple could chime in and add some value.

Its been an hour now and Safari is still trying to load pages in several tabs. Time to force quit.

I am having trouble with Safari too. I've come here because I keep getting messages that my browser is out of date but I appear to have the most recent one. I get messages that cookies are disabled when they aren't and I get messages that my flash player is out of date on some sites when I don't think it is. I love Safari and I don't want more than one browser. How do I check and at least make sure I have things set up correctly?

Hi Mulder: Tried everything you suggested, but to no avail. In fact, I could barely log in to this Discussion Forum. Told me "No Instance Available". What's that?????? Also, the second time, it timed me out! At least I am not alone, and I appreciate your trying to assist. My take is that Apple will have to come out with another Software Update to fix this one. Many thanks. I have been sending reports, by the way, so maybe they'll get the message!
