Setting up MSN Premium email on iphone. Is this possible?

Has anyone been able to setup MSN Premium email account on their iphone? If so please share your configuration settings or know how.

Accordingly Apple Kbase: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1694 it says to use an MSN email acct on the iphone you need MSN Premium.

But from what I seen and read on here, there are only a few people who have claim to done this and have it worked.

Host Server names:

pop3.email.msn.com
smtp.email.msn.com

secure.smtp.email.msn.com

pop3.live.com
smtp.live.com

SSL on/off

Ports 110/995/25

None of the above settings worked for me. However I have not used secure.smtp.email.msn.com

A couple of people talk about it in this thread. One says you can't do it, another says that you can. I think he called MSN and they helped.

Setting up MSN Premium on iphone IS NOT POSSIBLE! No matter what pop or live info you got from MSN it simply wont work. If you call MSN they will tell you "NO!". Heck they wont even verify their own server accounts even though we already konw what they are.

However there are some alternatives, of these Mbox Mail seems to be the best. But it will cost you $10 as price has gone up and may increase again in the future. So get it while you still can. Mbox supports MSN, Hotmail, Windows Live mail.

Alternatives:

IzyMail

Pros: Very easy to setup

Cons: Not free, Does not support folders, email passes through 3rd party servers

You can get Hotmail right on your iPhone. IzyMail gives you all your email in an easy to setup application.

More information: http://v3.izymail.com/iphonesettings.aspx

m•Box Mail

Pros: Very easy to setup

Cons: Not free

Now you can get Hotmail right on your iPhone. m•Box mail gives you all your folders and email in an easy to setup application.

Here is more information: http://www.mfluent.com/mboxmail.php or just search for "Hotmail" in AppStore.

Free Pops

Pros: Free

Cons: Must keep PC running all the time and have some technical know how, limited to use in WiFi and a configuration that is not always easy to setup.

So this took some thinking but I finally have hotmail on my iPhone. The only limitation is you need to have a computer running that is working as the middle man, Here are the steps:

1 - Setup a free email account like gmail (use a new one)
2 - On a mac, install FreePops http://freepops.sourceforge.net/en/
3 - To make your life easy, also install the front end application MacFreePOPS http://www.e-link.it/macfreepops/
4 - Use the tutorial to get this working pull your hotmail and load it into the apple Mail program

5 - Set up a rule in Mail to Redirect all messages in this new account to another email address (use the gmail account you set up in step 1)
6 - Set up the new gmail account in Mail
7 - Sync your iPhone
8 - Sit back and enjoy

The basic overview is that FreePops is a local application on your Mac that works as a server and gets mail from your hotmail account and loads it into your MAIL application. Using the MAIL application, you can then redirect new messages to the new gmail account you set up. Finally, after you set up the gmail and sync your iPhone, the new account will automatically get added to your iPhone mail app. Now you are good to go.

Safari

Pros: Free

Cons: Slow and hard to use

Open http://mobile.live.com in Safari. You can save that page to your launch screen so it is easy to open.
