connect yamaha dtxplorer electronic drums to Macbook

hello, i'm using U-CONTROL UCA202 to connect my yamaha dtxplorerIII electronic drums to the macbook...(audio out and audio in) when i listen to the playback in garageband after i record it is all static. is there a better way to record my drums on the macbook using garageband?

please any help would be appreciated.
