Ipod is Off and on Hold

My Ipod is turned off and is stuck (not physically) on hold. I can't reset it, nor will it turn on when plugged into a docking station or my computer. I know that it isn't a software problem because when it is plugged into the computer it is recognized as an Ipod, it just won't turn on.
Please HELP
