Open System Preferences/Date&Time and make sure the Date/Time and TimeZone are set correctly. Click the gold icon lock, bottom left side of the window to lock it, then Quit System Preferences and reboot your Mac. Launch iTunes and see if you can access the iTunes Store without a glitch.
Also, run Disk Utility (Applications/Utilities) and Repair Disk Permissions.

Try this... launch iTunes. From the Menu Bar, select Store/Authorize Computer and see if you can access the iTunes Store now.
