Hi,

As has been indicated above, SCSI is not a good way in this case.

Would the other Mac be the MacBook Pro mentioned in your profile? If so, it is possible to connect an external USB floppy drive to that machine.

Do you have a (serial) modem that can be connected to the Modem Port of the LC II? Providing that you already have access to terminal emulation software with file transfer capabilities (such as the communications section of ClarisWorks), you could send the files to another computer via the phone lines (or even directly; similar to the method described in KB article TA21796). With access to TCP/IP, PPP and email (or FTP) software for the LC II you could use the Internet for transfers.

An Ethernet card for the LC II would be another possibility.

Addendum

If the PC has a serial port (typically, DB-9M), a null-modem link could be yet another solution. Both computers need terminal emulation software with file transfer capabilities. A normal Mac modem cable DB-8M to DB-25M combined with a PC-style DB-25F to DB-9F null-modem cable would form the link.

Plain Mac data files (documents) can often be transferred via a PC without difficulty (a lost resource fork does not usually matter in this very case), contrary to Mac program files (which have to be protected).

As a direct connection no.

If the files will fit on a floppy I would borrow a floppy drive for your PC and do the transfer this way. Just reformat the floppies on the Mac to DOS first. If not find someone with a PC that does and figure out if you can then get the files from them to your PC.

It could be done with Appletalk if your PC supports ISA cards since there were Appletalk ISA cards available for the PC. I have one in my collection.

Or get an ethernet PDS card for the LC.

No circuit available. I have been using standard cables. The first one is a hardware handshake Mac modem cable (normally used between the MiniDIN-8M modem port of the Mac and an external serial modem with a DB-25F port). The other is a null-modem cable that can be found in most PC stores (sometimes as a multi-head cable, that is with DB-9F and DB-25F on both sides). These two cables are connected together, thus creating a link between the serial ports of the computers.

If absolutely necessary, it should be possible to locate typical pinouts or wiring diagrams on the Internet.
