Realtek audio driver - is it really needed?

after i installed Windows XP on my Macbook, and updated the drivers with the Leopard CD, i noticed one "Realtek High Definition Audio Driver".
is this really part of a Windows install on a Macbook, or can i delete it?

Click on 'Start' - 'Control Panel' - 'System' - 'Hardware'-Tab - 'Device Manager' and check for any devices shown with a yellow mark.
Also check there in the 'Audio-Video Devices' for mentioning of Realtek Devices.

If Realtek is mentioned there, leave all as it is, since otherwise you will loose Audio support.

Hi,

where did you came across the Realtek Driver ?

If it is listed in the Hardware Section/Device Manager of the Windows Control Panel
and the properties of it say 'Device in use' then leave it as it is.

I don't have a MacBook myself, but on my two Macs I have these Realtek and left it there and I have no Audio problems.
