Q: LaserWriter manual Printing

How do I get my LaserWriter select 360 to print manually without always asking to insert a piece of paper? I tried LaserWriter print utility but I don't see any way of doing this

When you say print manually do you mean inserting an odd size piece of paper such as an envelop? I'm guessing you are using the front loading manual paper tray?

My 360 had a small tray that clipped to the manual feed tray that accepted up to 50 sheets of paper, are you missing this/

I do have the small manual print accessory. What I am saying is that with paper in the manual slot, I get a message saying to insert paper. After I remove the paper and reinsert it the printer prints manually. I know there is a way to turn this message off and have the printer print without this message. I just have forgotten how to do it. I am not using any odd size paper.

What you are describing is a not manual feed, but "select the pages from a different paper source" (the multi-purpose tray). That should be available as an option in the Print Dialog, providing you have set it up for the correct model and are using a reasonably current version of the LaserWriter Driver. Slightly older versions of the driver used to make it more obvious.

Some other models may take the paper preferentially from the single-sheet slot when anything is available there, but I think some others may ignore it or just jam if you try that.

Thanks for your reply Grant but perhaps I am not making myself clear. We have 2 select 360's. When I put a piece of paper in my printer's manual slot and select manual print in the print dialog window, the printer prints. When I do the same thing in my wife's select 360, a message appears saying "the printer is waiting for a piece of paper to be inserted" It has nothing to do with the size of paper, we only use letter size.

I remember being able to turn this message off because my printer used to do the same thing. Some thing like " When manual printing no special warning." I have forgotton how to do this and I don't see any place in the LaserWriter utility that addresses this.Maybe I need a copy of an older LW utility
    .
    Thanks for any help
