My daughters 3rd gen iPod died - thought it was a low battery - plugged it into the computer with a Griffin USB cable (she lost the original cable) and it wouldn't charge. The iPod is not recongnized by itunes and the computer gives us a USB device is not recognized error and the iPod says to "Connect to Power" when it already is. We have tried leaving it plugged in for several hours to charge - no change. We have tried resetting it - makes no difference and when we try to go into disc mode it freezes up. Help please.
my computer isn't recognising my brother's ipod so neither is itunes therefore I can't transfer his songs onto our new computer. I've reinstalled itunes and restarted the computer but nothing is working. I don't know what to do and it's getting Realy annoying!
I am having the same issues with my ipod. I can charge my ipod on the computer but itunes is not reconizing my ipod, so I can't download any new songs at all from itunes.
We charged my daughters iPod on an iPod dock on a home theatre system - no problems - charged up and recognized the iPod. Connected the iPod to the USB port on the computer - still not recognized. We have bought a new Apple ipod cord, uninstalled downloaded and reinstalled itunes, done driver updates and all other technical suggestions on the apple suppory pages. Phoned Microsoft and Dell and did what they suggested and NO SOLUTION. It seems that we are not the only ones Apple needs to provide a way to fix this problem or has anyone else found a way to fix this. BTW the iPod works fine and charges on wall charges and with vehicle charges. My other daughter's iPod shuffle is not having this problem.
i have 2 ipods and 3 computers. and the ipods are not recognized on any of the computers. if anyone has an answer it would be great. apple just doesnt seem to care, they blame the computers.
