I have thousands of tracks which are duplicates. There has to be a better way than manually deleteing each one from iTunes. Suggestions???
Also - my iPod seems to be able to correctly show one versoin of a track. What's the iPod doing that iTunes isn't and why isn't iTunes doing it too? : )
Yes - this is exactly the question I asked for ... how to delete "globally" duplicates as its a **** to delete them one by one !
No result in my search - cannot find an appropriate answer ... somebody in the room ?
😉
thanks ?
Sometimes the duplicates get added on a day when a folder is dragged over into the library. So if you sort your itunes library by Date Added, those tracks are all grouped together. If so, you can use the mthod in the article in the Tip section:
+Tip: To speed up the process of deleting duplicates, you can select multiple duplicates and then delete them all at once. To do this, press and hold down the Control key (Windows) or Command key (Mac), then click each individual duplicate item you want to delete. To delete all of the items you highlighted, press the Delete key on your keyboard and follow steps 3 through 5 from the above list of steps again.+
If any of the diplicates have a ! next to them, they won't go onto youripod since itunes can'f find them. Maybe that is why your ipod is only getting one copy.
