itunes running in background

How do I get itunes not to run in the background when not using? This is besides killing the apps through the windows task manager.

The three process you mention should run at startup if you want iTunes to work normally.

If you don't want AMDS and you don't have an iPhones/Touch, you don't need it it and can uninstall it with Add/Remove programs.

I wish it was that easy. But the apps startup when the computer reboots.

Go to C:\Documents and Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\ and remove the shortcut for iTunes.

There is nothing there. I checked 'All Users' and mine area for start up.

Here is the list of apps running.
# ipodservice.exe
# AppleMobileDeviceService.exe
# itunesHelper.exe
