How do I disable the screen lock?

How do I disable the screen lock on my iPod Touch (2nd gen)?

Note: I am not talking about the auto screen lock. I want to disable the "slide to unlock" prompt when the screen is turned back on.

Having the screen lock when the display is off is like having to slide the lock switch on an iPod classic to the unlock position every time I want to do something. I just want the screen to power off while playing music so I don't flatten the battery quickly, but I don't want to have to press the on button, then slide to unlock every time I want to change the track. This is frustrating.

Thanks.

Hi ksattic,

If you purchase the Apple In-Ear Headphones http://www.apple.com/ipod/inearheadphones/
You can pause, skip ahead, and skip back, with the button on the headset cable.

You can also double tap Home button from the locked screen to pull up iPod controls while the screen is locked.

But, if you want to see a feature of the iPod changed, you can leave iPod touch related feedback here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodtouch.html
