Txt msg error SOLUTION!!!

After spending hours on the phone with apple an AT&T, I went in person to the apple store to get help. They troubleshooter it for 30 minutes and sent me to the nearby AT&T store. 20 minutes later the employee had found a solution! This simple solution relieved me of so many hours of problems.

SOLUTION: dial this number 5005*7672+13123149810#
To see if you can txt message, send a txt to "151" which is a free AT&T number. Hope this helped!!

This has worked for people if their Message Center Number is incorrect, but if not this does nothing! To check to see if your Message Center Number is incorrect, dial #50057672#. Note that you should check your cell phone provider for your Message Center Number with regards to what country you're calling from for the number.

I have this same issue even though my message center # is correct...

I went to the local Apple store today to talk to a Genius about the SMS issue on my phone. He told me that he received an email from Apple about the issue just today (Jan 1) and that a large number of people are having the issue. He took down my serial # etc and said Apple is escalating the issue and will contact me hopefully within a few days with a "work around"
