Upgrading new RAM, on the MBP 2.5 C2D.

I bought my macbook pro in late august and i wanted to upgrade more ram. i think the ram in the laptop is pc2-5300? is it possible to upgrade it to pc2-6400 or anything higher? Thanks. sorry if this is a stupid question.

MBP, 2.5 C2D, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

It would be a waste of money to buy faster rated RAM because it will not run any faster than what the computer is rated at. Buy RAM that meets the specifications outline in your user guide. If you aren't certain what to get then purchase through a reputable vendor that knows what fits your machine. I can recommend Data Mem. Reasonable pricing and they have a separate Mac memory selector to help get the memory for your specific model.
