video audio overlapping slideshows

I have just built a simple DVD with 4 slideshows, each slideshow has one song associated with it and some movies included in the slide show. The previews look perfect the mapping gives no errors. After I render the DVD i get the audio from some of the movies that overlaps the slides and some movies that no longer have audio. All the movies within the DVD are small files from my digital camera, so they are all the same.

Were these songs purchased from iTunes? If so, you should take these preliminary steps.

1. Burn the music in question to a CD.

2. Reimport the music as an AIFF file. iTunes>Preferences>Advanced>Importing>Import using: (drop down menu) AIFF encoder

3. This music can now be imported into your project.

You might be dealing with more than one issue. If you do have iTunes music, follow the above procedure and see if the problem is resolved.

thanks, I've done this, but the problem is with the movie clips not the itunes music. The audio to the movie pics plays in places that are not correct and some movie clips don't have audio at all,

Click on a clip that is having this problem. Then go to Advanced>Extract audio. You will produce an audio track that is separated from the original clip. You will then be able to move the audio clip so that it lines up the way you want. Follow this procedure for the remaining offending clips.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You've added video clips to a slideshow with photos and have audio selected for the slideshow itself, right? Even with the option to Duck audio while playing movies (in the Settings pane) the audio does play thru. It's a bug. Report it to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/idvd.html.

I just realized that I had forgotten that this project is being created in iDVD, NOT iMovie! Sorry for the mixup and unusable advice.
