iBook power adaptor light permanently green

Regardless of whether the battery is charged or charging the light on the power input plug only shows green rather than orange when charging and green when charged. The adaptor and battery are fine. It's a minor problem but can it be cured please?

iMac Intel, Mac OS X (10.5)

Hello and thanks. I suppose this is just one of those odd little electronic problems that no-one can explain. It's slightly annoying that if the iBook is being charged it has to be booted up to see in the fully charged icon is showing in the top bar before putting the adaptor away. That's cheaper than buying a new adaptor.

....or you can just turn the iBook over and press the button on the bottom of the battery and when all 4 lights light up green it means it full. That would save you from having to boot it up.
