Tell us what you've done so far.

Try connecting to other ports on your computer.

Try resetting the iPod whilst it's connected to the computer.

Try these trouble shooting steps.

do you both have seperate computers or do you use the same one?? if you use seperate it may be the software hasnt been installed properly....if you are using the same....i think your ipod is faulty.... see what other people have to say fisrt though...

The usb ports on your computer (where you plug in the iPod). Sometimes trying a different port can get it recognised.

Did you look at the link I gave about Windows pc's?

Are you using the same connecting cable?

If you've tried everything in that link, and you've tried using the same cable and connecting ports that your sister's iPod is using, then we have to now look at the possibility that your iPod is defective (especially as your sister's iPod works and your doesn't).

It happens, and as it's so new, can you return it to the place of purchase for an exchange?

I have this problem. When I connected my Ipod to my Windows computer it made 3 noises then did not connect. It has happened once before to me but I left my ipod connected and eventually it worked. It may have been due to low battery (is this possible?) but today it has happened again.

Yes it's possible that a low battery could affect this.

Yes, I have tried all the different USB ports but i think my battery is dying aswell. If i only get 2 hours maximum playback after fully charging my mini ipod (4G)can i get it replaced? Is it worth it? Do i have to pay approximately £30 - i've had my ipod for 9 months?
