Solo, Mute, Bus and Aux

Hi,

I've read previous discussion about some Logic's (7) strange behaviors about soloing or muting tracks, which are going to a bus/aux.

I've discovered this, maybe it is not anything new.

I create two tracks (audio instrument or audio track)
I send them to bus 1. I set no output for bus 1
I set as input for aux 1 the bus 1.
I create another track (number 3) that goes directly to output 1-2.
All the auxes the busses and the traks are stereo

So…
If I solo track 1 from the arrange view where there is the list of all the tracks I Hear the track 1 plus track 3 (that is not going to the bus).
If I solo track 1 from the mute button under its fader, still in the arrange view, I hear no sound.
To hear just the track 1 you have to solo aux 1 from the button under its fader in the arrange view and then you have to solo the track 1 from the solo button on the arrange track list.

Same strange behavior for the aux too.

If you press the aux 1 solo button on the arrange track list, you’ll mute the aux. If you’ll press the aux 1 solo button under its fader still in the arrange view you’ll effectively solo the aux.
In every situation I get no stereo problems.

Do you get the same?

I’m under logic 7.1.0

I've try to understand the concept of "solo safe" reading the manual, but I didn't get too much. The other thing that it's not clear to me is the different behavior between the buttons on the track list and under the faders (still in the arrange). They have different behaviors.

If I check “safe solo” on aux 1 or I don’t check the “safe solo” button on aux 1 I get the same behavior If I solo one of the two tracks that are composing the aux.
If press the Solo button placed on the track list for the track1: I get track 1 + rest (works as a solo just for the aux)
I press Solo button placed under the fader of the trak1: I get just track 1 + track 2 (works as solo for the entire aux)

Moreover, if I press solo button on aux 1 placed on the tracks list, it works as a Mute. If I press solo button on aux 1 placed under the fader, it works as Solo.

Mute and solo in arrange are different to the way they work in the mixer. As you know, you can have several tracks assigned to a channel, and solo or mute them independently.

The mixer solos or mutes the entire channel, and all tracks assigned to that channel together. that's why solo safe works as expected in the mixer, so that you can hear the channel+effect return when your aux is in solo safe mode. You'll notice that the solo or mute buttons work instantly in the mixer, but not in the arrange track header. If I'm mixing, I use the mixer buttons. The channel strip in the arrange page works as it does in the mixer.

So to summarize, arrange track header solo/mute buttons work differently from channel strip/mixer channels solo/mute buttons and have different functions.
