Airport Wireless on B&W G3 under OS 9

I recently added a third party wireless card to my B&W G3 and it works fine under 10.3.9. I would like to use wireless under OS 9 so I downloaded Airport software 2.0.4. But when I tried to install it from either OS 9 or Classic, I get an error message saying that Airport isn't compatible with the hardware. I also have a Powerlogix 1 GHz G3 upgrade card installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I also have a B&W using OS9 (Dedicated to an old program and plotter for making vinyl lettering, cannot use any higher OS) and I would like to be able to access my wireless and retrieve files from other computers and hard drives. I have 2 imacs and a powerbook (all latest OS) a Airport Extreme and a Time machine with an additional 1TB h/d connected to it. Currently I just use a usb Thumb Drive to move files.
Probably shouldn't mess with it but can't help myself.

John,

As an alternative, you may want to have a look at an external wireless Ethernet bridge (also known as a gaming adapter). Such a device is connected to the Ethernet port of the computer. No special drivers normally needed. The bridge can be used under almost any operating system. A few examples: Belkin F5D7330, D-Link DWL-G810, D-Link DWL-G820, Linksys WET54G, Linksys WGA600N and Netgear WGE111. Study the specifications. Not all units or variants support WPA security (a firmware update may be sufficient in some cases).
