Airport Extreme and -6753

Hi,

I already read a lot on the net bout that error message but no real solution.

I have an Airport Extreme Fast Ethernet at home. This one is working quite well I do get connections and everything BUT suddenly yesterday evening when I tried to get connection to my hard disc connected to the AEBS it was not possible anymore. The first obvious thing was to have a look at the Airport utility and there was something new although im connected although i get a ip address and everything i cant open the configuration. It always says that I should check my connection with error -6753. I tried everything no idea the device is there with my configuration.

I already feel totally stupid cause i am not able to hard reset the device either.... it does stay with its settings no changing to factory settings at all although the led flashes on the device i always see it as Airbase and with the 192.168.2.26 ip which is given by my dhcp client (its working as access point only and for the usb harddrive.... at the moment cause of having a stupid vista pc here that does not work with aebs).

Has anyone any idea? I feel clueless.

So long Miri

at the moment Windows XP soon MBP, Windows XP Pro

I had a similar problem - unable to connect via the Airport Utility, error -6753, and unable to perform a hard reset on the Extreme.

Another forum post ( http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8413896&#8413896) described performing a hard reset +while the Airport Extreme is rebooting+.

That is,
- remove the power cable from the Extreme.
- plug in the power cable.
- while the Extreme is rebooting, while the status light is still Amber, perform the hard reset, e.g. push the reset button until the light blinks Amber.
- the Extreme is now reset to factory defaults.

The above procedure successfully reset my Extreme and I could manage it wirelessly via Airport Utility.

Good Luck!
