My iPod Touch 8GB has Software Version 1.1.5 (with Software Upgrade) or so iTunes tells me!! When I connect to iTunes and look at the Summary tab, in the Version section, I'm told that Software Version 2.2 is available to download. I click to Update button and the download starts, or appears to, going by the scrolling arrows and "1" by the Downloads section under the Store heading. After about 10 minutes I get a dialogue message saying "There was a problem downloading the iPod software. The network connection timed out." I've searched the net and Apple Support but can't find the solution. Any advice would be appreciated.
Problem sorted!! Disabled Windows Firewall and my Antivirus, and tried again - it ran like a dream. Had to have a couple of goes at re-syncing but all back up and running with 2.2 Thanks for the help though.
