Restoring from backup stalled

I'm restoring my iPhone from a backup and it seems to be stalled. The iPhone says "Restore in Progress" yet the progress bar on iTunes has stayed at the same spot for over 15 minutes.

What can I do now? I'm afraid of undocking it.

vinylbeast,

Make sure Mac OS and iTunes are both updated, click the Apple in the top left corner of the screen> Software Update..

Also, make sure the iPhone is directly connected to a high speed USB port on the Mac and not plugged into a hub.

If the issue persists, continue trying the general tips in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275
Follow the steps under *Restore using a new user account*. Does the iPhone restore in another user account?
