Communicating with Polaroid Pogo

PoGo will print directly from Mac using BueTooth. It's been a little buggy though. Sometimes after 1 or 2 prints it freezes up and won't print again until I reboot, repair, etc. Like you I wish it would print from iPhone. Maybe an app from Polaroid.

When it's working it's fun.

I've talked to people at Polaroid and they say it's not Polaroid, it's Apple that's the problem. They won't come through with an ap to make the printer work with the phone. Too bad, they'd make a great combo.

You're wrong. Polaroid is doing everything possible to get the printer hooked up to the iPhone. It's apple that's dragging its feet. Think about it, who needs who more? Do you really think Polaroid is sitting back saying, "Ha! Apple, we don't need them! We're doing just fine without them."

How do you have inside information on what Polaroid is doing? Could you link to official information from Polaroid that indicates this? I looked at their website and did not see anything regarding Polaroid's plans in relation to the iPhone.

You are correct, there is nothing on Polaroid's website in relation to the iPhone, except what I saw in the phone compatibility page. But you don't need inside information to see what's happening here. If you know anything about Polaroid, and you can read all you need on their website, you'll see they would like nothing more than to be compatible with every phone on the market, especially the iPhone. I'm no computer genius but I would think it wouldn't cost too much to create an application to make it happen. I'm just hoping Apple and Polaroid can get together on this because they make such a great pair ... both are American icons with great products.

Well, it is NOT Polaroids fault as Apple has some technical restrictions regarding the Bluetooth function. This is said so by Polaroid:
"Sorry! The Apple iPhone and iPhone 3G are not compatible.
Although the iPhone includes Bluetooth, there currently is no Bluetooth transfer capabilities such as "send via Bluetooth".
If you would like to encourage Apple to become compatible with our printer, please click here or contact Apple directly at 1-800-MY-IPHONE (1-800-694-7466) and request Apple consider enabling the Bluetooth transfer profile (OPP) in their phones." (source: http://www.polaroid.com/pogo/us/comp.html)
So I would encourage all to write Apple an email showing that we'd love to use the PoGo with the iPhone (such as almost all other cellphone users can do).

Yes - I too am hoping there will be a fix for this. Maybe an APP like the one HP made?

It's up to Polaroid to create an app and submit it to Apple. It's not up to Apple to write an application to work with this device.
