Display options for 2005 17" Macbook Pro

The search function doesn't seem to be working, so my apologizes in advance if this is a FAQ.

1) I have a 17" Macbook pro back from 2005. I want to get a nice cinema display go compliment it when I am not on the road. The new LED ones look amazing but I do not know if my notebook is compatible with it. Are there adapters available that would make purchasing the new LED display a viable option for my notebook?

2) If the LED is NOT an option, which cinema displays are still being sold by Apple that are viable options for my notebook?

3) Someone mentioned to me that Apple makes a touch screen monitor (much the way the iphone works). I have searched all over the website and haven't found anything like that. Is there any validity to this person's claim or is it just a lie?

Thanks in advance.

To answer your question #1, the LED Cinema is not compatible with your notebook. We can all hope for an announcement of some sort at MacWorld Expo in January, but no one knows for sure.

Same with #2. There is the expectation that there might be new Cinemas at MWE, but at this point it is all speculation. And that's something we aren't allowed to do on this form, anyway. So we all just have to wait for the middle of January and hope for the best.

About #3, Apple does not make a touch screen monitor.
