iTunes Audio Configuration Error. Help?

okay so... my computer just got wiped and I lost my iTunes and all my music. I reinstalled windows and now have started the tedious task of trying to regain my lost music. The Music itself is perfectly fine, ive installed iTunes and all is well. But when i go to open the progrm I'm getting an error that displays as such.

"iTunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration"

NOW! before someone jumps on me about it being in the support. I HAVE consulted it and I have uninstalled AND reinstalled quicktime. Still the problem persists. I've Uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes as well, yet nothing changes and the error still opens. The music simply does not play. Anyone have any ideas?

When you reinstalled QUicktime, did you go through all the steps for removal of QUicktime in this article?

Did you download the version of QUicktime that does NOT include iTunes and install that?

If that's not go to your control Panel>>Sounds&Audio devices>>Audio tab.
Look at sound playback. Is the default device set to your sound card?

That's about all I can suggest.

yeah. I followed the article to uninstall and reinstalled the Quicktime without the iTunes. I just checked the soundcard config and the playback but its fine. It's all hooked up right but still I'm getting that terror. its doing the same for Winamp now as well. not the same message but still an error with the playback. i can only assume that i have a bad driver or something. I'm going to try those next hopefully I'll find the problem and will be able to solve it.

thanks for your suggestions.
