what is Wi-Fi?
my friend told me its wireless but i dont think i have wireless... how can i put applications and stuff onto my ipod touch then?

See this article. It is a coined term that is generally used to refer to a wireless internet connection.

Your iPod Touch has wireless built-in. You can obtain applications by connecting your Touch to a wireless network and downloading directly from the iTunes store or you can download from the iTunes store using iTunes on your computer provided you have q network connection.

applications can be installed via the USB cable to your PC (or Mac) running itunes. Just download the apps you want through itunes store and then synch the Touch afterwards.
