    Hi,

A bit of a dumb question, but as you didn't mention, did you go to www.apple.com/support/ipod and read the articles provided there for troubleshooting?

If you did, please mention the things you have tried so folks reading don't suggest things you've already tried.

The only thing close required the serial number which i can't get unless I can get onto my Ipod.

The serial number is usually printed on the back of your iPod. (It is on my 5th generation classic iPod at any rate.)

Yes i did indeed go to the site and look and troubleshooting didnt help me at all..I found nothing about how to fix this

As mentioned before "+If you did, please mention the things you have tried so folks reading don't suggest things you've already tried+". Sorry for labouring the point, but noone here is a mind reader so unless you tell us, we don't know what HAS been tried already
