Best emergency battery ?

I have searched around for an emergency battery unit for the iPhone as the battery life is so poor.
Can anyone recommend one after actually using one ? I know the white "Cult Gadget" one on eBay. Has anyone used this one ? does it work ? I don't care about recharging the iPhone to 100%. The wish is for it to charge and maintain power enough to operate the iPhone until the next opportunity to recharge.

I have also seen the Black "Desktop Charging Cradle Plus Emergency Charger" that the iPhone slides into.

Comments and suggestions welcome.

Desktop Charging Cradle Plus Emergency Charger"

If you are at your desktop, doesn't that mean you already have an opportunity to recharge? Just plug it in!

Or are you looking for an extended battery (additional battery) for when you are away from your desk?

The Apple store sells the Kensington, so that must mean it meets their standards:

Thanks for your replies guys !

I am quite worried about this bending thing I have to admit. If it is just sitting on the desk then that would be fine... but in a pocket or talking on it... mmmm..

I may end up getting one of those AA battery chargers - I have to say I am surprised at the lack of choice in the market for emergency chargers. Even on eBay there is very little choice...

I just bought a couple the units at the link below for $20 at Fry's. I also see them on eBay for around $30. They seem to work great. With a low iPhone battery, they seem to provide about a charge and a half before being depleted. The unit comes with a cord to charge it. The charger cord comes with a mini USB on one end and a standard USB connector on the other end. To recharge the iPhone you use the standard Apple USB cable to the data port that comes with the iPhone.

The battery can be charged either with a computer USB port or a wall (mains) USB plug. This may not be the best, but you probably can't beat the price. I also have one of the Kensington batteries that cost $70 and IMHO, it doesn't do any better than the APC model.

I have the mophie juice pack www.mophie.com there $99 but worth every penny I've only had this for a couple days but I don't have to charge the phone everynight now that's a plus cause I don't always remember then in the morning I remember I didn't charge it then I'm screwed the rest of the day cause I don't have my phone so try it and if you don't like it take it back.

I would be interested to know what it is that you do on your phone that gives
you only 4 hours on a charged battery.

The 12 hours you claim for this power-slider plus your internal is less than the 16 hours I get with just the internal battery and every service turned on, location, blutooth wifi and 3G.

Apple says you should get this:

Talk time:4
Up to 5 hours on 3G
Up to 10 hours on 2G
Standby time: Up to 300 hours

Internet use:
Up to 5 hours on 3G
Up to 6 hours on Wi-Fi
Video playback: Up to 7 hours
Audio playback: Up to 24 hours
