Upscale virtual resolution on MacBook Pro

Ok I know it seems stupid but I was wondering if there is any way to force a resolution on a MacBook Pro that doesn't support it ?

My mac can only support up to 1440x900 and I tried SwitchResX which makes bigger resolution possible, but the screen appears like zoom, I'd like to have for example 1680x1050 without zoom, it's not for game, just for desktop tasks, of course I know that for games it wouldn't be possible.

Well actually you can "fake" the resolution as it's possible on windows, but of course it causes slow in video games. In real, the resolution still is 1440x900 but the OS simulate a fake bigger resolution.

In windows I did prefectly from 1280x1024 to 1440x900, but if I tried bigger it causes blurry screen. My screen was 1280x1024 capable only... So I'm sure it's possible to fake a resolution, which is stupid for movies or games but so helpful for desktop tasks.

I guess when in normal resolution 1 pixel goes in 1 pixel, in fake resolution you can put 2, 4, 8 pixel in 1 pixel screen.

Look at the sharing screen mac, you can watch the screen on a 1680x1050 lap top on a 1440x900 lap top because the resolution is faked.

If a LCD has only 1440x900 pixels, there is nothing you can do to get more resolution.
