Save arrangement of widgets?

Hi!

Every time I start my mac, when I open my dashboard my widgets are all in a clump in the center, piled on top of each other. I have a screen full, I play with them while I am doing other things, but it is a pain in the neck to have to rearrange them every time I open my dashboard. Is there any way to save the arrangement permanently?
