HOW DO I REBOOT MY MACBOOK?

Hey, I'm new to this Macbook stuff, I want to reboot my computer and everything, how do I do that? I also have a problem with the battery charging, my AC Adaptor is plugged in and is lighting up green but my percentage is still at 0%, it says "Battery is not charging". Can someone please help me out in detail please, especially with the MacBook terms because I am new at this lol...thank you

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

First off, try wiggling your charger connection. It should be orange while charging. Green just means it is connected.
As far as rebooting, there is the little Apple emblem on the top right of your screen. Clicking on that gives you the "Apple menu" with various options to do stuff. Down about 3/4 of the way is the shutdown, restart, sleep options. Just click on restart and your MacBook will reboot.

Let's start with that first.

well it still won't charge at all, when the mac is on with the connection of the AC adaptor it doesn't charge, the light is green but when i disconnect the AC adaptor, my mac shuts off....

I meant like delete everything thats on the computer because this mac is my cousins and she gave it to me and i would like to reboot (erase) everything thats on the mac if you know what i mean....like for instance you know a normal computer you can rebot the whole computer which makes your computer a lot faster as well deletes all the files..

To wipe the Hard disk drive clean, just insert the Install CD that came with it, then reboot holding down the C key. It should now startup from the CD and you can then reinstall the OS and have a clean machine.

If you need written instructions, from the Finder choose help and type in "reinstalling mac os X".

Good Luck.

After this install, the charging issue might actually resolve itself. If not, I would take it to our nearest Apple store. Just make sure to set up an appointment first either by signing up on Apple's website or calling the local store.
