Hi All,

I have been trying unsuccessfully for a couple days to connect my airport express to my Panasonic 42" plasma TV. AirTunes is working according to iTunes, but I hear nothing from my TV. There are a million jacks on my TV, but I have tried plugging the monster cable into all of them, and I have tried all of the different inputs on the TV's menu (Component 1, Component 2, Video 1, Video 2, Video 3, HDMI1, HDMI2, etc...). What might I be doing wrong?

Hello Strad6708. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!

The AirPort Express Base Station's (AX) audio port can provide either an analog audio signal using a minijack-to-dual RCA connecter cable or a digital audio signal using a minijack-to-TOSlink cable.

Your TV, in turn, would need either RCA audio inputs or an optical-digital input to receive the AX's audio output signal.

Is your intent to play iTunes movies thru your TV? If so, then you should know that these movies' audio cannot play thru AirTunes ... and thus, you will not get movie audio out of the AX's audio port. (ref: iTunes: Movie sound does not play through AirTunes)

However, you may be successful doing so using a non-Apple solution, like Rogue Amoeba's Airfoil.
