iTunes Store "song credit"

I supposedly have "credit" at the iTunes store for five 99 cent songs/items. Yet when I went to order a 99 cent app, I was told I didn't have enough "credit" and that my bank credit card would be charged. So how can I use these 5 supposed "credits?

So buy something else.

You either have a credit for a number of songs (shown as a number) or a credit for a dollar amount (shown as $x.xx)

It shows as "songs" but since the iTunes Store was originally written just for music, a lot of the terminology is still music-related. I did try to buy an album, figuring that the difference would be charged to my credit card, but the Store can't do that basic action. As I told Niel above, I buy very, very few individual songs; mostly I buy apps and albums. I guess I'll have to see if there any oddball songs that I might want.

Too bad, there isn't an iTunes Customer Service contact like in all other stores.

Song credits, as has been said, only apply to individual tracks. You cannot apply them toward the purchase of an album. The terminology is exact and has not changed: song credits only apply to individual songs, not albums, apps, or anything else. A credit for a video would appear as a "video" credit, and the same would apply to credits for other items; they'll all be named appropriately.

You can contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department using the form on their Contact page. But there's nothing that they'll be able to do for you in this instance.
