All my Applications disappeared!

All my Applications disappeared!

Somehow all my purchased Apps on both my iphone and in iTunes have disappeared (except for 2).

During a recent shutdown I remember iTunes wanting to rebuild the library or something like that.
I do know after it was done I had to get a lot of album artwork again.

Not knowing they were removed from my iTunes library I plugged my phone and they were removed from the phone also.

I believe I have most of them still in a folder called "Mobile Applications". How do I recover them?

resync to your computer you sync to all the time. Should recover everything.

That's how they disappeared from the phone, when I synced the phone.

( just did the sync thing again and still now apps)

Right now the apps are not in itunes or on the phone.
However, they are in a folder within itunes called "Mobile Applications"

try to reboot your computer and re open itunes. They should come back.

By rebooting I'm assuming you mean restarting.
Just did that and still only have two apps in iTunes.

Have you been using Time Machine to backup your machine? If so, use it to restore those apps that are missing. If not, this should be a lesson on proper system backups.

Funny you mention that.

Earlier today I went to do my weekly backup and my Acomdata external hard drive apparently has died. I have already ordered a new drive....not Acomdata

another option is to download them all again... I know it's a pain but you won't have to pay for them again. Even though the prompts looks like you are. Hope it's not many.

But I can see them in the itunes folder ....Mobile Applications.
There has to be a way to get them active again.
I just don't want to make things worse.

no, I mean going to the app store either on the phone or your computer to get the apps again.

I had the same problem yesterday, I synced my phone only to get an error message (I believe it was a problem with the backup folder?) which resulted in only 8 out of 80 applications remaining in iTunes.

All of the applications were in the mobile applications folder. They are now restored in iTunes after I clicked on each individually.

I just had this happen to me. When I connected my iPhone to my Mac, it opened iTunes, but I was using a different computer and a new library. A message popped up that was trying to tell me that some of my purchased files were not synced yet. I didn't want to sync my phone at the moment because there were some songs on my iphone that were not imported into my library yet. I clicked "NO" because I didn't want to erase anything off of the iPhone. For some reason, it thought I meant "yeah delete all my apps now" and proceeded to remove all my apps from the iPhone.

Luckily, as is mentioned elsewhere in this topic, the apps are still stored in the mobile apps folder in the iTunes folder. I was able to reinstall all my apps by drag/drop into ITunes and then syncing the iPhone.

This same thing just happened to me today - also having to do with album artwork.
All of my purchased music is still there, plus more album artwork, but all of my aps have disappeared.
I started going through and re-downloading them all, but only the free ones acknowledge that I already own that ap, the ones I actually paid for bring up the message that my account will be debited this amount, click ok to begin downloading.

Help!

Luckily I still have my aps on my phone because I haven't synched it yet.
What can I do?
