No 3g Signal

Hey everyone,
Hopefully the holidays found all of you well.
I am experiencing an issue with my iphone 3g (launch day *7 hours on line!* SoHo)
where i have NO 3g signal at all. i have it on and it says "seaching..." then goes to "No Signal". it then shows the signal bars for the 3g which are flat (no signal). then it repeats the same process. i can use it in edge with no problem at all. I've tried resetting network settings and mulitple restores. Nothing seems to work! It's been happening for a few weeks now and it is quite annoying.
Any help, as always, is much appreciated!

Hi Scott...

Some basic questions..
1. Where are you located? Country & City
2. What firmware version do you have on your iPhone?
3. How long have you had your phone?

Could be a weak 3g signal in your area especially since you say you can get onto EDGE easily. I had a similar problem with firmware version 2.1 but it has worked perfectly with the upgrade to 2.2.

Take it to your carrier (ATT?) and ask for a new sim.

Be sure to check the coverage map for your carrier to be sure you are in a covered area. I've seen your reported behavior in areas just beyond the
boundaries of good 3G coverage and in mountainous ares.

I know that this might sound silly but in 'Settings' make sure that 3G is switched on

I am in Union, NJ
I have firmware 2.2 latest.
I've had it since july 14th (launch day)

and by the way, i've always had great full 3g service in my house and at school. but now i don't have it anywhere at all. i've traveled to new york and all over new jersey along this holiday weekend and i've gotten the same thing everywhere i've went. :-/

It is turned on and i'm not in a blackout area. like i said it's been going on for about a month and a half now. i have friends who have iphone 3gs and their 3g is working perfectly.
